Barty watched him, letting out a regretful sigh as the collar was unbuckled and dropped. Ah, well. It was fun while it lasted. "I... have a thing for plenty." If he was being quite honest. Astonishingly enough, his sex drive hadn't taken too much damage from a life that could have done so easily. "So you should've said." No one had told him time lords, or this time lord at any rate, were into that.

Not too late though, not too late by a long shot. He reached up to play with the bleached hair, still not used to the look and definitely not sure what to make of it on the whole. Cute, he supposed. Quite cute.

"Does food mean we're looking at a menu or what is it you need?" No judging, hey. Aliens were aliens after all.

"Officially, Time Lords are not into this kind of thing. Sex is needless and a waste of our time so enhancing it with collars or whatever, totally pointless," the Master recalled in the blandest tone, making it clear how little he thought of this genius policy. He never was that good at following the rules of Gallifreyan society, he didn't find they gelled well with his style of living. "I suppose I'm the except. Well, me and a certain Doctor. No one can tell me he's a pure little boy scout."

The way he chasing girls around Asgard. Or, more accurately, flirting like an embarrassing idiot and somehow not striking out. Really, it was a mystery to him.

"Just because I'm an alien doesn't mean we're not compatible." the Master dismissed as he stretched out, sprawling along the bed like he always did in their old room, careful not to knock Barty off. "Menu, I guess. It'd be nice to eat something that's nice for once."

"For a wizard, I'm far from the norm too, sexually. Conservative lot on the whole. Get married early, pretend not to have a mistress." He shrugged, at the same time shifting to allow the Master to sprawl more comfortably, though he stayed where he was on top of him. "What Doctor is it here, now? Any of the ones I'd know?" He wasn't sure he entirely wanted to know, but he strongly felt he should.

"Let's see." He held out his hand, focused and, muttering an accio, had what looked like the menu for room service float over to him. Granted, getting up wouldn't have taken that much longer, but he was enjoying their current position very much. "Eat whatever you like. Then we can figure out what to do next. I reckon your old offices might be it."

"Humans are very conservative on whole. It's not until the 24th century you hit your stride, then you get loose in the universe and fuck everything in sight," They always repressed themselves so much that when the potentials were offered, they fell apart and gave in faster than he believed they could. "He just regenerated, I think? I wasn't there for it but he seemed very hung up on the idea of his 'death' so -- Eleventh? You know? Big chin, no eyebrows, terrible fashion sense."

He'd never gotten to know the Doctor properly, just that he was much less forgiving and far more hardline when it came to the Master killing all of his friends. Mad, right? Grabbing the menu, he scanned it lazily before dropping it onto the bed. "Can't we just have everything? I'm starved."

"Ah. Well, I don't mind not being that far ahead." Barty kept his eyes on the Master, hands still in his hair, absentmindedly playing with it as he talked, a lot more focused on his words. "I'd much rather just appeal to those that appeal to me. Rather more limited pool, but I should think a lot more gratifying."

To the description of the Doctor he just nodded. Yes, he knew the one, if knowing was the right word. Not a fan, but he didn't exactly find any of them appealing, as far as he knew them.

"Of course we can. Whatever gives you energy."
bornofdeath: (So hungry)

With a groan of annoyance, the Master pulled himself upright finally, running his fingers through his messy hair and giving Barty a look. Someone was full of compliments lately. Good thing, too, he did love a little flattery. Otherwise, what's the point of having friends? Companionship? Boring!

"Anything will," the Master admitted as he turned to Barty with one eyebrow raised slightly. "Though I have to say, I'm thinking that we should rethink our plans for curing me. I just had a brilliant thought. Hopefully. If it goes wrong, not my fault."

Just a disclaimer because he had been out of it for a while, he couldn't say much for certain. "Naismiths mansion, we should check there. I can give you the location if you have a quick means of transport."

[personal profile] liquidsky 2014-07-15 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Barty rolled around until he was on his back, although he sat up enough to lean back on his elbows. "Not your fault if it goes wrong. Of course." A smile on his lips he nodded. "Show me where it's located and I should at least be able to get us close. This universe seems similar enough to mine in regards to geography."

With a shrug he combed his fingers through his own hair in an attempt to tame it somewhat. "No broom, though. Sorry to disappoint. I'd need to modify one first."
bornofdeath: (Come again?)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-15 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"It'd be quicker foe me to make us a transport," the Master muttered, which was actually kind of true. All it would take is a few parts from the TV, maybe some from the hairdryer and two AA batteries. Cheap, practical and probably better than making some random broom magically. Where would they even get a broom anyway? "How do you do it anyway? Teleport, I mean. Logically, it doesn't make any sense."

But no magic did so what a shock that was. He could argue with hours over how little it all made sense but fortunately for both of them, he had more important things to do. Like crawling out of bed to raid the mini fridge. If they were on the move, he was going to need to consume everything in the fridge.

"Want any over-priced snacks before we leave?"
liquidsky: (Death Eater are people too.)

[personal profile] liquidsky 2014-07-15 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Probably. I don't really specialize in broom-making." Barty got to his feet and started getting dressed again, just sparing a glance at the fridge. "I'm good." That and he knew the Master needed it more. He could get food later, without a doubt.

With a shrug he considered himself in the mirror before looking back over his shoulder with a smirk. "Why, I just close my eyes and wish for it very much." A shit-eating grin, really, not just a smirk. He knew how much magic and its apparent lack of logic irked the Master. "One must be completely determined to reach one's destination, and move without haste, but with deliberation." If it sounded recited, that was because it was. The three D's, simplified phrase for apparation students.
bornofdeath: (Dinner time)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-15 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
The Master knew he should get ready but instead, he just found himself happily eating the contents of the mini fridge. Almost everything in there disappeared in moments as the Master tore through everything like a rabid dog, hungry and considerably messy. To be fair to him, not long ago he was consuming whole people. Now, he was having some overpriced chocolate bars.

But still, he felt eating people might send entirely the wrong message to Barty. And sort of kill whatever romance they had going.

Once everything in the fridge was eaten and drunk, he clambered up to retrieve his clothes. Changing slowly, he turned to Barty, just to see how close he was to being ready. "So you magically think of somewhere and wish it? That's just -- dumb. That can't be how it works! It's madness. And too easy."
liquidsky: (this background does nothing for me)

[personal profile] liquidsky 2014-07-15 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Barty was already dressed by that time, adjusting his jacket, given he still carried all his knives. He considered leaving some of them behind, now that he had his magic again, but decided against it. Things could change so fast.

"It's not all that easy, actually. You even need a license." He frowned thoughtfully. "Come to think of that, I reckon technically mine was revoked when I was imprisoned. Trust me anyway?" Barty held out a hand to the Master. "Just a warning. It's safe, but it feels very uncomfortable. Main reason most of us prefer other modes of transportation."
bornofdeath: (In my head)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-15 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
With his clothes finally on, he ruffled his hair out a little to look presentable and reached out, taking Barty's hand with a long over the top sight. Hey, he'd ridden in the Doctor's TARDIS and he'd never had a license to lose. The only thing people needed really was a good sense of navigation and a certain level of skill. What did certification get anyone?

"Fine, I'll trust you. Just don't screw it up," If they ended up in Cardiff or something, he wouldn't be happy. He wasn't exactly up fora long train ride back to London. "I'll take time over comfort any time. Take the reigns, Bartemius. I'm your captive audience."

"Oh, I wouldn't go that far." Appealing as it sounded from a certain perspective. Although he rather preferred a more equal relationship on the whole, definitely. He reached up to ruffle the Master's hair, because - frankly - he looked adorable in his hoodie, then he let go of his hand to hold his elbow instead.

"Tell me where to go." He paused, then added, perhaps to rectify some of the liberties he'd taken that day a little. "Master."
bornofdeath: (Cunning foe)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-15 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
The Master rattled off a vague address he remembered but honestly, he didn't know it specifically. He didn't get that kind of detail last time. "I didn't go willingly, if you catch my meaning. They felt the need to make that decision for me so aim in that area and we'll find it. Trust me, I have a brilliant sense of direction."

All Time Lords did. Worth bragging, right? "Lead the way and try not to land us in an ocean or something."

"I'll try," Barty said dryly before turning his hand and, well. It might feel like being moved through a pipe entirely too small for any human body to fit, but it really didn't take more than a second before they arrived. He had his wand out in a second, confounding any bystanders around them so they quickly got over having seen them appear out of nowhere.

"Any complaints?"
bornofdeath: (Darkness)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-15 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
The Master blinked heavy a few times and shook his head, trying to adjust his sights. That was about as bad as pocket transportation, only there wasn't any way to improve it like he could technology. Why would wizards opt to do this and study for a license? "Why is it to be quick, you have to suffer? Not the worst I've had to suffer but it's definitely in my top ten."

Clicking his neck back into place, he ventured ahead, taking in the street to try and work out where to go. "I think we go straight ahead. It's the biggest building at the end of the block."

"The effect is less noticeable with practice. I barely feel it." But then, he was also quite used to it. So he shrugged and looked around while pocketing his wand. "Should be easy enough to find. What are you looking for exactly though?"

Just curious, he could deal if the Master chose not to disclose anything to him. He'd just wait and see. "You've not told me what really happened to you."
bornofdeath: (Sad smile)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-15 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a mansion so it's hard to miss. You'll know it when you see it," the Master insisted as he kept moving, trying to trigger some sort of memory as to where he was. Nothing was more awkward than trying to work out exactly where he was when he had little to no memory of the journey that got him there in the first place.

"There's not much to tell. Before I came to Asgard, I was shot by my darling beloved wife. I was always going to die, I knew that all along, but I also had ways to get back. I had a plan ready. A cult, I suppose, loyal followers who knew how to bring me back. But they did it wrong," That's what happens when you trust humans to do your work for you. One moment of trust and now look at him, dying and destitute. "I timed my return rather badly. The drums were getting worse, like the Doctor warned me they would in Asgard. They weren't -- they weren't what I thought they were."

The Master had believed they were his divine purpose. He couldn't of been more wrong. "I thought he was lying to me when he told me, trying to piss me off. They're nothing but a signal," With a sad smile, he shrugged his shoulders to try and seem less bothered than he was. "Nice people, my race. Glad they burned, they deserved it."
liquidsky: (unassuming eyebrows)

[personal profile] liquidsky 2014-07-17 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Barty watched the Master from the side as he told his story. He remembered the drums, of course he did. It didn't matter that he'd only ever heard them the once, it was more than enough. He still knew the rhythm and he doubted he'd ever forget. Still, this was a lot to wrap his mind around.

Finally he reached out to wrap an arm around the Master, holding him since there wasn't much else he could do. It was casual enough, he never slowed down. What could he even say to that? He wasn't sure. Perhaps nothing was the best in this situation. He was good at silences, much better than the Master in his experience.

So he was silent until he nodded toward the mansion ahead. "Familiar?"
bornofdeath: (Time to play)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-17 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
The comfort was nice enough, he did appreciate the gesture, even if he never felt overly comfortable being in a position of weakness. He'd given in a lot lately, perhaps that was the biggest sign of his own problems right now. He'd fix things, he knew he would. He just had to find his feet, find his spark. Get his head back into things rather than this grey uninspiring depression.

Looking up, he couldn't help but grin at the sight of the Naismith mansion. He bet his remaining lifeforce they'd already scampered off in fear, never to return. So much easier than the alternatives.

"Very. This is the place."

With an amused noise, he took several strides towards the place, entirely determined. "It should be abandoned still so we'll just take everything we need and go."

"Are there any wa..." Wait, wards was definitely not the right word for this. "Is the house protected?" He had his wand at the ready at any rate, not yet drawing it, but his free hand held it as they approached the house. He had gotten in the habit of drawing his knives, but it seemed to be an easy enough habit to break out of again.

"I should be able to unlock any door, at least." He didn't imagine anything here guarding against magic, after all. Why would they, if he was the only one capable of wielding it? What power. Lonely, perhaps, but that wasn't sinking in yet. Maybe it never would, with the Master by his side.
bornofdeath: (Can smell him)

[personal profile] bornofdeath 2014-07-17 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"You mean does it have security?" the Master asked, looking slightly bemused at the idea that it could have 'wards' of all things. He should of committed a little more to teaching Barty the ways of technology. He was sure if he gave his companion a computer, he'd never understand a single thing on it. Except maybe the letters of the keyboard.

"I don't think it does and even if it did, it's probably deactivated. From what I heard, there was a bit of a leak with some harmful chemical so--" Wait, hang on, he almost forgot about that. Reaching out to stop Barty, he gave him a very firm look. "I need to go in first, make sure it's safe. I didn't go through this much effort to accidentally kill you."

With a sigh of annoyance, he moved up the stairs and checked the door. Fortunately, it was still open, the whole place had just been abandoned as it lay. Taking a swift inhale, he waited a moment before turning back and offering a slight smile. "Doesn't seem too bad. Want me to check further or do you trust my judgement?"

Trust might not be quite the right word, but the master was literally all he had left. If he died, he might as well. If he lived, it would be for him, at least in a way, so... Trust it was, in some capacity, that had him follow the Master without hesitation in answer to the question. His hand was still on his wand, but that was just natural caution.

Once inside he looked around, trying to get a more complete picture of everything that had to do with the Master being in his current state. "What exactly are we looking for?" Because searching might go a bit faster if he at least had a vague idea what they were hoping to find.
